Katie Touart is a professional artist whose greeting card and textile designs have sold in museum shops and fine retail stores across the country.  Her work in theatre began in 1999 with 75 hand-painted kimonos she helped local elementary school students create for their production of Gilbert and Sullivan's MIKADO.  Three years after co-founding this community/school theatre project, (which she still continued to costume) Katie costumed her first professional production.

Recent costume credits include: Rumplestiltskin, Peter Pan and Wendy (2014 Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Costume Design,  and Outstanding Production,TYA) and Aladdin's Luck (2012 Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Production, TYA) at Imagination Stage.  Five Little Monkeys, Winnie The Pooh, (2014 Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Production,TYA) Just a Dream- The Green Play,  and the upcoming Pinkalicious at Adventure TheatreMTC.

Katie has also enjoyed recent collaborations with Step Afrika! for their Symphony In Step, 2013 Holiday Show and the upcoming Green Is The New Black. When not designing for professional productions, Katie can be found creating costumes with children and young adults in a variety of schools and theatre education settings.  Katie is a graduate of the University of Chicago and Massachusetts College of Art.
