Katie Touart is a recent MFA in Costume Design from the Yale School of Drama.  Her work in theatre began in 1999 with 75 hand-painted kimonos she helped local elementary school students create for their production of Gilbert and Sullivan's MIKADO.  Three years after co-founding this community/school theatre project, Katie began costuming professional productions.

Yale credits include Native Son (Yale Rep) Othello, Some Bodies Travel and Fucking A (Yale School of Drama) Do All Daddies Have Grey Suits?and The Silent Sex (Yale Cabaret Satellite Series).  Other credits include the 2016 Helen Hayes Award-winning production of Wiley and the Hairy Man,  Rumplestiltskin, Peter Pan and Wendy (2014 Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Costume Design and Outstanding Production,TYA) and Aladdin's Luck (2012 Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Production, TYA) all at Imagination Stage.  Five Little Monkeys, Winnie The Pooh, (2014 Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Production,TYA) and Pinkalicious at Adventure TheatreMTC.

Katie has also enjoyed collaborations with Step Afrika! for their Symphony In Step, 2013 Holiday Show, Green Is The New Black and Duke Ellington's Nutcracker with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, among others. Katie has undergraduate degrees from the University of Chicago and Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
